Tulum offers something we love in a vacation—the chance to completely relax one day and experience something unforgettable the next.
We've experienced Tulum as a family and loved how easily an all-inclusive stay could be paired with ancient Maya history, freshwater cenotes, local culture and adventures throughout the Yucatán Peninsula.
Our kids loved the pools, activities, food and entertainment. We loved the convenience. And some of our favorite memories happened when we ventured beyond the resort.
Whether you're traveling as a family, couple or group, Tulum can be as relaxing—or adventurous—as you want to make it.

Today is all about some of Iceland's most famous natural wonders.
Travel the Golden Circle to see Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, watch Strokkur geyser erupt, and experience the power of Gullfoss waterfall.
Don't Miss: Þingvellir • Geysir geothermal area • Gullfoss
Head south for a day filled with the landscapes Iceland is famous for.

Don't Miss: Seljalandsfoss • Skógafoss • Reynisfjara • Vík
Continue east toward one of the most extraordinary areas of the trip.
Visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where enormous pieces of ice drift through brilliant blue water before making their way toward the ocean. Across the road, chunks of glacial ice wash onto the black volcanic sand of Diamond Beach.
Depending on the season and itinerary, this is also a wonderful area for a guided glacier experience.
Don't Miss: Jökulsárlón • Diamond Beach • Glacier views
Slow things down and enjoy the journey.
Iceland's East Fjords offer winding coastal roads, mountains, waterfalls, colorful fishing villages, and plenty of reasons to pull over for another photograph.
It's a beautiful reminder that in Iceland, sometimes the drive itself becomes the attraction.
Don't Miss: East Fjords • Coastal villages • Scenic overlooks
Continue north toward Lake Mývatn and Goðafoss, one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls.
This region combines volcanic landscapes, geothermal areas, lakes and waterfalls with a completely different feel from the South Coast.
Depending on your route, spend time exploring Akureyri before continuing the journey.
Don't Miss: Goðafoss • Lake Mývatn • Akureyri
Spend your final day enjoying more of Iceland's scenery as you make your way back toward Reykjavík.
Depending on your flight schedule and pace, add a final scenic stop, enjoy Reykjavík, shop for a few Icelandic souvenirs, or simply slow down and take in the views one last time.
Because after seven days in Iceland, you'll probably already be thinking about when you can come back.
Pack layers. Icelandic weather can change quickly, even during the summer.
Don't underestimate driving time. You'll want to stop—a lot. Waterfalls, horses, mountains and unexpected viewpoints have a way of changing your schedule.
Leave room in your itinerary. Iceland isn't a destination we'd recommend rushing through just to check attractions off a list.
Book popular experiences early. Geothermal lagoons, glacier excursions, accommodations and rental vehicles can fill quickly during popular travel periods.
Expect the unexpected. Weather and road conditions can change plans, so flexibility is part of traveling Iceland well.
Seven days is a wonderful introduction, but Iceland is a destination that rewards more time.
This sample itinerary covers an ambitious amount of the country. If you prefer a slower vacation, we'd recommend concentrating on Reykjavík, the Golden Circle and South Coast—or adding additional days for a more relaxed Ring Road journey.
That's the beauty of a custom itinerary: the trip should fit the traveler, not the other way around.
Iceland isn't only beautiful.
There's something about standing beside a thundering waterfall, walking across black volcanic sand, watching icebergs drift through a glacier lagoon, soaking in naturally heated water and driving for miles surrounded by seemingly untouched landscapes that makes you slow down.
It's peaceful. It's powerful. And it's difficult to describe until you've experienced it yourself.
Iceland rejuvenates. 🇮🇸
